Empowering Youth: MyInLaw and The Career Foundation Partnership
Empowering Tomorrow's Leaders
At MyInLaw, our mission has always been clear: build stronger, more inclusive communities by empowering the next generation. We are excited to announce a powerful partnership with The Career Foundation through their Youth Thrive Program — a collaboration rooted in equity, capacity-building, and real-world impact.
🌟 Why This Partnership Matters
This initiative is more than just a volunteer placement program. It’s an opportunity to equip youth—especially those from racialized, newcomer, and underserved communities—with professional skills, leadership experience, and meaningful roles in nonprofit and community work.
With over 5 volunteers already onboarded and ready to begin their journey, this collaboration is already taking shape—and we’re just getting started.

🎯 Our Shared Goals
Together with The Career Foundation, we are working toward:
Creating accessible and inclusive volunteer opportunities
Focused on youth aged 16–29, especially those who identify as Black, or newcomers to Canada.
Fostering professional growth
Volunteers receive structured training through 13 workshops in areas like project management, teamwork, accessibility, and inclusive leadership—building skills that last a lifetime.
Building nonprofit capacity
Volunteers will directly support MyInLaw’s operations and flagship projects, including:
Internal Capacity Building: assisting with administration, communications, design, outreach, and tech.
SafariniFest 2025: Toronto’s East African street festival, where youth volunteers will play key roles in logistics, marketing, and event coordination.

🤝 A Partnership Rooted in Purpose
We believe that real transformation happens when organizations and communities work together. Through this partnership:
Youth gain visibility, recognition, and pathways to employment
Our organization gains fresh energy, perspective, and support
The community gains a network of young leaders committed to service and inclusion
📣 Looking Ahead
We are currently welcoming new volunteers and expanding roles to accommodate in-person, remote, and hybrid placements. Whether you’re a youth looking to gain experience or a community member looking to get involved — this is your moment.
We also look forward to deeper collaboration with The Career Foundation — co-developing outreach campaigns, exploring sponsorship for SafariniFest, and continuing to amplify youth voices across Toronto.
Looking Towards a Brighter Future
Together, we are creating a culture of leadership, service, and belonging.
We are proud to walk this journey alongside The Career Foundation — and even prouder of the young people leading the way.
