🚀 MyInLaw Joins CareersNOW! on the "RecruitNOW!" partnership to serve Black community job seekers.
Introduction to the RecruitNOW! Partnership
We’re thrilled to announce a new milestone officially in our journey—MyInLaw is now a formal partner in the CareersNOW! “RecruitNOW!” initiative, a province-wide employment strategy aimed at helping employers connect with diverse talent.

This partnership is the result of nearly a year of collaboration, shared vision, and mutual respect. Since 2024, MyInLaw has worked alongside CareersNOW! to break down systemic employment barriers in Ontario’s food and beverage sector. Together with our close partner New Nakfa, we've hosted job fairs, conducted targeted job matching, and launched preparatory training to help East African youth and other marginalized communities secure meaningful employment.
🤝 What This Partnership Means
Under the RecruitNOW! initiative, MyInLaw will:
- Secure and prepare jobseekers for participation in 8 virtual job fairs across Ontario.
- Provide live support at each job fair, including resume assistance, interview prep, and real-time guidance.
- Participate in employer webinars, sharing our expertise in inclusive job development.
- Offer direct talent matchmaking, especially for employers with urgent or specialized hiring needs.
- This multi-faceted approach ensures that participants are well-prepared to enter the workforce confidently.
This work is rooted in our broader Roadmap for Workforce Development, which outlines how we are building long-term employment solutions for newcomers, single mothers, and youth from East African and other marginalized communities. Roadmap for Workforce Development.

🌍 Why It Matters
For MyInLaw, this partnership reflects more than funding—it’s a shared commitment to dismantling systemic barriers and building an equitable job market that reflects the rich diversity of Ontario.
For CareersNOW!, it represents a practical step toward industry transformation—where inclusion, community partnerships, and tailored support are core to recruitment strategies.
As Isabel from CareersNOW! shared, this initiative is about “defining relationships and putting real value behind them.” We couldn’t agree more.
📅 What’s Next?
Our team will be out in full force at the May 28th CareersNOW! Conference, meeting employers and showcasing the talent that exists within our communities. We’ll also be engaging directly with employers across the province who are looking for skilled, motivated job seekers and want to be part of a more inclusive hiring process.
